For Example the newer range of Epson printers in our opinion seem to have less reliable head technology than the older machines, and head replacements are frequent, bear in mind Epson will almost always blame your ink if its not Epson Ink. However we have three Epson machines with faulty heads that have only used Epson original inks- Read what you want into this.
For a head replacement on a modern Epson the parts have been increased to Approx £1200 add into this the Engineers time and VAT and you wont see much change from £2000. Not worth it for a Stylus Pro 7890 im sure youd agree. Epson have increased the prices in my opinion because many other printer suppliers use Epson heads for Printers that print Sublimation, Direct to Garment, Solvent etc etc . As Epson have printers for all print requirements they have increased the price of parts so it makes these suppliers less competitive.
Epson However will do a printer repair for a FIXED FEE which Engineers cannot ( they are undercutting their own resellers and engineers). In these cases we will suggest you go direct.
